Why Aruba
Why organizations choose Aruba
High-density Wi-Fi
Ultra Tri-Band filtering on 6E and Wi-Fi 7 access points lets 5 and 6 GHz radios run side by side, which helps in lecture halls and open offices.
Policy-based security
ClearPass assigns access by user, device and role, so medical devices, cameras and guests each land where they belong.
One dashboard
Wireless, switching and SD-WAN in Central, with templates that make every site look the same.
Automatic RF tuning
AirMatch adjusts channels and power, and ClientMatch steers devices to the best access point.
Strong switching
AOS-CX brings telemetry and high availability from closet to core.
Fits regulated sites
Common in healthcare, higher education and government, with TAA-compliant models available.
Compared
Aruba compared with Meraki
Aruba is usually the stronger fit for large campuses and organizations that need granular network access control, while Cisco Meraki wins on simplicity for lean IT teams. Licensing models differ too. See the full Cisco Meraki vs Aruba comparison and Aruba vs Fortinet.

Education
Aruba for schools and E-Rate
Aruba access points, switches and their licenses can be eligible under E-Rate Category 2. WCC works as a Category 2 service provider on the installation; your district or consultant handles the Form 470 and 471 filings. Wi-Fi typically runs $800 to $2,000 per access point installed. See K-12 school districts.

Healthcare
Aruba in hospitals and clinics
Hospitals are where Aruba's strengths show most. Clinical Wi-Fi has to carry voice badges, infusion pumps, carts and guest phones at the same time, and ClearPass can place each device type on its own role with its own rules. We design clinical Wi-Fi with Ekahau surveys at device height, coordinate installation around patient areas and infection-control requirements, and validate coverage before handoff. See healthcare.
Licensing
How Aruba licensing works
Aruba access points, switches and gateways are bought as hardware, and Central management is licensed per device by subscription term, at foundation or advanced tiers depending on the features you need. ClearPass is licensed separately by the number of endpoints. We line up license terms across sites and show hardware, licenses and installation as separate lines in every quote.
