Nutanix FAQs
How do you size Nutanix clusters?
We profile CPU, memory, storage, and IO patterns for current workloads, then model growth and HA domains. Node mix and storage policies are chosen to meet performance and resilience targets without over-provisioning.
Can we use AHV if we already run another hypervisor?
Yes. Many customers standardize on AHV for integrated operations while keeping specific hosts on an existing hypervisor for specialty apps. We design interop and migration paths that avoid disruption.
How is security enforced on the platform?
We implement least-privilege RBAC, hardened management access, and microsegmentation patterns for east-west control. Changes are governed via documented procedures, reviews, and audit logs.
What does DR look like on Nutanix?
Protection policies define RPO/RTO and replication between sites. We maintain runbooks for failover/failback and run isolated recovery tests to validate outcomes—logged and tracked for compliance.
How do you handle upgrades and lifecycle?
We schedule policy-based upgrades during maintenance windows, validate health before/after, and keep images consistent across clusters. With managed services, lifecycle and capacity planning are handled proactively.
What do we receive at handoff?
As-built diagrams, configuration exports, access/role maps, capacity and growth plans, DR runbooks, and routine operations procedures. We complete a live admin walkthrough and knowledge transfer.
