The short answer
WCC Technologies Group is a licensed low voltage contractor in Southern California, holding California C-7 low voltage, C-10 electrical and C-28 lock and security licenses (CSLB #819788). We install structured cabling, fiber, Wi-Fi, networking, security cameras, access control and audiovisual under one contract, for owners directly or as the low voltage subcontractor to general and electrical contractors.
Definition
What a low voltage contractor does
In California, a C-7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor installs, services and maintains communication and low voltage systems that are energy-limited and don't exceed 91 volts. That covers most of the technology in a commercial building: data cabling, fiber, wireless, cameras, access control readers and controllers, intercoms and AV. Most projects need several of those systems working together, which is why splitting them across separate contractors creates gaps at commissioning.
What we install
Low voltage systems we install
Structured cabling
Cat6 and Cat6A, racks, closets and certification testing. Network cabling
Fiber optics
Single-mode and multimode backbone with splicing and OTDR testing. Fiber optics
Wireless
Survey-designed Wi-Fi with post-install validation. Wireless
Networking
Switching, routing and cutover coordination with IT. Networking
Security cameras
IP camera systems and video management. Security cameras
Access control
Readers, controllers, electrified hardware and intercoms under our C-28. Access control
Audiovisual
Conference rooms, signage and video walls. Audiovisual
Cellular DAS and ERRCS
In-building cellular and first responder radio coverage. Cellular
Electrical support
Power for low voltage systems under our C-10, so fewer trades are needed.
Licensing
Why our three licenses matter
| License | What it covers for you |
|---|---|
| C-7 Low Voltage Systems | Cabling, fiber, wireless, cameras, AV and other energy-limited systems |
| C-10 Electrical | Dedicated circuits and power for equipment, without a separate electrician |
| C-28 Lock and Security Equipment | Electrified door hardware, locks and access control equipment |
You can verify license #819788 on the CSLB website. Hiring an unlicensed contractor for commercial low voltage work exposes the owner and the GC to liability and can void manufacturer warranties.
For general contractors
Working with general contractors
Much of our work is as the low voltage subcontractor on new construction and tenant improvements. We prepare submittals and shop drawings, answer RFIs, coordinate pathways and sleeves with the electrical and mechanical trades, pull permits where required, and deliver test reports, as-builts and warranty packages at closeout. On public works we're DIR registered and handle certified payroll.

How a WCC project runs
Review and design
Our RCDD reviews plans and specs, confirms pathways and flags conflicts before they become change orders.
Pre-construction
Install and coordinate
Rough-in with other trades, then cabling, devices and systems installed by our crews.
Construction
Test and close out
Cable certification, system commissioning, as-builts and warranty documentation.

FAQ
Low voltage contractor questions
What does a low voltage contractor do?
A low voltage contractor installs building technology systems such as data cabling, fiber, Wi-Fi, security cameras, access control, intercoms and AV. In California this work requires a C-7 license.
What voltage counts as low voltage in California?
The CSLB C-7 classification covers energy-limited systems that don't exceed 91 volts.
What licenses does WCC hold?
WCC holds California C-7 low voltage, C-10 electrical and C-28 lock and security licenses under CSLB #819788.
Does WCC work as a subcontractor to GCs?
Yes. We handle submittals, RFIs, coordination with other trades, permits, testing and closeout documentation, and we're DIR registered for public works.
Why use one contractor for all low voltage systems?
One contractor installs and commissions every system with full visibility into how they connect, so integration problems are caught during installation instead of at turnover.
Does WCC install intrusion alarms?
Not yet. WCC's alarm services are planned for 2027. Today we install cabling, networks, Wi-Fi, cameras, access control, AV and DAS.
Does WCC provide submittals and as-builts?
Yes. We prepare submittals and shop drawings during preconstruction and deliver test reports, as-builts and warranty documentation at closeout.
