The short answer
WCC holds a CMAS contract, so California cities, counties, school districts, community colleges and special districts can buy our services through an already-competed state contract instead of running their own formal bid. Your agency still follows its own quote and approval rules.
What CMAS is
California's state contract for IT and infrastructure
CMAS is run by the California Department of General Services Procurement Division. Its contracts are based on contracts that were already competitively assessed, such as federal GSA schedules, and DGS reviews them before adding them to CMAS.
For agencies, that means a purchase can move forward without posting a separate formal bid. Learn more at the DGS Procurement Division.

FAQ
CMAS questions
What is CMAS?
CMAS, the California Multiple Award Schedules, is a California state contract program run by the Department of General Services (DGS) Procurement Division. CMAS contracts are built on contracts that were already competitively assessed, such as federal GSA schedules, so agencies can buy without running their own formal bid.
Who can buy under CMAS?
California state agencies and local government agencies, including cities, counties, K-12 school districts, community colleges, special districts and joint powers authorities. Check the DGS Procurement Division for current eligibility rules.
How does a CMAS purchase work?
The agency confirms the vendor holds a CMAS contract for the category, requests quotes as its purchasing rules require, documents the best-value selection and issues a purchase order. Quote requirements differ between state and local agencies, so follow your own procurement policy.
Is CMAS faster than a formal bid?
Usually. Because the contract was already competed, agencies can often skip posting their own formal bid, which can take months. The exact timeline depends on your agency's approvals.
Is prevailing wage required on CMAS work?
It depends on the scope. Equipment-only purchases generally don't trigger it; installation on public projects, such as cabling, electrical and security work, generally does. WCC is DIR registered and provides certified payroll.
What's the difference between CMAS and OMNIA Partners?
CMAS is California's state program, available only to California agencies. OMNIA Partners is a national cooperative purchasing organization. WCC holds both. See contract vehicles.
