Public safety technology for police, fire, dispatch and EOCs
Cabling, networks, Wi-Fi, cameras, access control and radio coverage for public safety facilities across Southern California, installed around 24/7 operations.

The short answer
WCC installs the technology that police stations, fire stations, EMS facilities, dispatch centers and emergency operations centers run on: structured cabling and fiber, segmented networks, Wi-Fi, security cameras, access control and emergency responder radio coverage (ERRCS). We work around 24/7 operations across Los Angeles and Southern California, and we're DIR registered for prevailing wage work.
What we install
Technology for public safety facilities
Cabling and fiber
Cat6 and Cat6A to consoles, workstations and devices, with fiber between floors and buildings. Every run tested, labeled and documented. Network cabling
Segmented networks
Separate networks for dispatch, records, building systems, staff and public Wi-Fi so a problem in one doesn't reach the others. Networking
Wi-Fi
Coverage for apparatus bays, offices, training rooms and EOCs, designed with a survey. Wireless
Security cameras
Perimeter, sally ports, lobbies, parking and, where scoped, holding areas, with retention and role-based access. Security cameras
Access control
Credentials, schedules and audit logs for evidence rooms, armories, server rooms and staff-only areas. Access control
Radio coverage (ERRCS)
Emergency responder radio coverage systems where the fire code requires them, plus cellular DAS. Cellular and ERRCS
Where we work
Spaces we wire and secure
| Space | What it usually needs |
|---|---|
| Dispatch and 911 centers | Redundant cabling paths, segmented networks, cameras at entries, strict access control |
| Emergency operations centers | High-density Wi-Fi, AV and display cabling, network capacity for surge use |
| Police stations | Evidence and armory access control, cameras at sally ports and lobbies, segmented records networks |
| Fire stations | Apparatus bay Wi-Fi, station cabling, cameras and keyless entry for crews |
| Evidence rooms | Audit-logged access, camera coverage of every entry and storage area |
| MDF and IDF rooms | Clean racks, labeled patching, fiber backbone, documented ports |
Network security
Segmentation and CJIS
Dispatch systems, records management and investigative tools need to stay separate from administrative traffic and public Wi-Fi. We design and install segmented networks, with firewall rules and access policies set to your agency's security policy. If your network handles criminal justice information, the FBI CJIS Security Policy applies. We build infrastructure your IT team can align to it; compliance responsibility stays with the agency.
Live facilities
Working in facilities that never close
Scheduled around operations
Work is sequenced around shift changes, active dispatch areas and access restrictions, and any outage is planned in advance with a fallback.
Cleared and escorted crews
We follow your site access, background check and escort requirements and coordinate with facilities staff every day.
Same standard at every station
Labeling, rack layouts and documentation stay consistent across stations, so your IT staff can support any site.
Procurement
How agencies buy from WCC
WCC holds a CMAS contract and access to OMNIA Partners, is DIR registered for prevailing wage and certified payroll, and works on bid, cooperative and direct purchases. See government and education for more public sector work.
Typical scope
What each system usually includes
| System | Typical scope |
|---|---|
| Structured cabling | Cat6 or Cat6A to consoles, workstations, access points, cameras and doors; fiber between closets and buildings; testing and as-builts |
| Networking | Core and edge switching, firewalls, segmentation for dispatch, records, building systems and guest use |
| Wi-Fi | Survey-based design for offices, apparatus bays, training rooms and EOCs |
| Cameras | Perimeter, entries, sally ports, lobbies, parking and evidence areas, with retention set to agency policy |
| Access control | Readers and locks on restricted rooms, with audit logs and schedules by role |
| ERRCS and DAS | Radio coverage for first responders where the fire code requires it, plus cellular coverage inside the building |
| Audiovisual | EOC and dispatch display walls, briefing and training room AV. Audiovisual |
Project types
New stations, renovations and refreshes
New construction
We work as the low-voltage contractor under the general contractor, from submittals through testing and closeout, coordinated with the design team.
New stations and EOCs
Renovations
Phased work in occupied buildings, with temporary connections so systems stay up while spaces are rebuilt.
Occupied facilities
Technology refreshes
Switch, Wi-Fi, camera or access control replacements across multiple stations to one standard.
Multi-site programs
Dispatch centers
Dispatch and emergency communications centers
Dispatch centers have the least tolerance for downtime. Cabling for consoles is usually installed with redundant paths, closets are built with room for growth, and any cutover is planned minute by minute with your communications staff. Many centers follow NFPA 1225 for emergency services communications; we coordinate cabling, pathways and labeling with your design team so the low-voltage work fits that plan.
FAQ
Public safety technology questions
What technology do public safety facilities need?
Most need structured cabling and fiber, segmented networks, Wi-Fi, security cameras, access control for restricted areas, and in many buildings an emergency responder radio coverage system.
Do you work in active police and fire stations?
Yes. We schedule work around shift changes and active dispatch areas, follow site access and escort rules, and plan any outages in advance.
Can you help with CJIS requirements?
We design and install segmented networks and access control your IT team can align to the FBI CJIS Security Policy. Compliance responsibility stays with the agency.
Do you install ERRCS?
Yes. WCC designs and installs emergency responder radio coverage systems and cellular DAS. See cellular and ERRCS.
Can agencies buy through a contract vehicle?
Yes. WCC holds a CMAS contract and access to OMNIA Partners, and is DIR registered for prevailing wage work.
What areas do you serve?
Public agencies across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties.
Do your crews meet background check requirements?
Yes. We follow each agency's site access, background check and escort requirements, and assign the same crew throughout a project where possible.
Do you work on new fire and police station construction?
Yes. We work as the low-voltage contractor on new stations and EOCs, handling submittals, installation, testing and closeout documentation.
