Avigilon Unity Cameras & ACC VMS in Southern California

WCC Technologies Group installs Avigilon Unity cameras and Avigilon Control Center VMS for Southern California organizations requiring on-premises recording control, LAN-first performance, offline resilience, and deep AI analytics — without cloud dependency.

What Is Avigilon Unity

On-Premises VMS Built for High-Security Environments

Avigilon Unity is Motorola Solutions' on-premises video management platform — cameras record to your own infrastructure via Avigilon Control Center (ACC) VMS, with no cloud dependency for live view, recording, or AI analytics. It is the right platform when your organization requires maximum recording control, offline resilience, or air-gapped operation.

WCC installs Unity for healthcare campuses requiring HIPAA-aligned on-prem retention, government facilities requiring CJIS-compliant offline resilience, and enterprise campuses where LAN-first recording performance and deep analytics are non-negotiable. For cloud-managed deployments, see Avigilon Alta Cameras.

Platform Detail

Avigilon Control Center (ACC) VMS

ACC is the on-premises video management software that drives Avigilon Unity deployments — running on dedicated appliances or customer-provided servers, managing recording, analytics, user permissions, and evidence export entirely on your infrastructure.

On-Premises Recording

Cameras write directly to local storage — no cloud required for live view, playback, or analytics. Full LAN-speed throughput with no bandwidth dependency on your internet connection.

Offline Resilience

Full recording and playback continues during internet outages. Unity operates entirely on your local network — no cloud dependency for any core VMS function.

Self-Learning Analytics

H6A cameras classify people and vehicles at the edge. ACC surfaces alerts, enables smart search by object type, and generates motion recap timelines for rapid review.

Evidence Export

Native clip export with chain-of-custody documentation for incident response and legal hold — no third-party tools required, no footage transfer gaps.

Role-Based Access

Granular operator permissions by camera group, site, or function — least-privilege configuration with full audit trail of user activity across the VMS.

Unity Access Integration

Access control events appear linked to camera footage in ACC — investigate access incidents without switching between systems.

FAQ

Avigilon Unity Camera FAQs

What is Avigilon Unity and how does it differ from Avigilon Alta?
Avigilon Unity is an on-premises platform — cameras record to your own ACC server or appliance with no cloud dependency for recording, live view, or analytics. Avigilon Alta is a cloud-managed platform where cameras use edge storage and a cloud dashboard. Unity is the right choice for organizations requiring offline resilience, HIPAA or CJIS-aligned on-prem retention, or maximum LAN-first recording performance. See Avigilon Alta Cameras for the cloud-managed alternative.
What Avigilon Unity cameras does WCC install?
WCC installs the full Avigilon Unity camera lineup including H6A fixed dome and bullet cameras, H6A multisensor and panoramic cameras, H6A PTZ cameras, H6SL low-light cameras, H6A LPR cameras for vehicle entry, and H5A cameras for secondary coverage areas. Camera model selection is based on coverage area, lighting conditions, resolution requirements, and analytics needs.
What happens if the internet goes down with Avigilon Unity?
Nothing changes — Unity operates entirely on your local network. Cameras continue recording to the ACC server at full resolution and frame rate, live view remains available to on-premises operators, and analytics and alerts continue functioning. There is no internet dependency for any core Unity VMS function.
How does WCC size ACC storage for an Avigilon Unity deployment?
WCC sizes ACC storage based on camera count, resolution, frame rate, motion profile (continuous vs. motion-triggered recording), and your retention requirement. We add a buffer for peak recording periods and recommend RAID configurations for redundancy. We also provide storage expansion planning for future camera additions.
Can Avigilon Unity cameras be integrated with access control?
Yes. Avigilon Unity cameras integrate natively with Unity Access door controllers through ACC — access control events appear alongside camera footage in a unified interface, enabling event-linked video review and rapid incident investigation. See Unity Access Control for full access control detail.
