How WCC Managed Security Pricing Actually Works

Most managed security pricing in Southern California is opaque on purpose — vendors want you on a sales call before you see numbers. WCC publishes pricing structure up front because every managed security account follows the same three inputs: device count (cameras, doors, panels), site count, and service tier (Standard, Advanced, Premium). Tier picks the scope and SLA; counts pick the line-item math. Final pricing is committed in writing after a free site audit. Industry context for managed security pricing is documented by ASIS International.

  • Camera monitoring priced per camera per month
  • Access control priced per door per month
  • Alarm monitoring priced per panel per month
  • Visitor management priced per location per month
  • Unified monitoring priced as service layer
  • Tier determines scope and SLA across all services

What's Not Included in Managed Security Pricing

Managed security pricing covers ongoing monitoring, administration, and response. Hardware, install, and physical response are separate line items. Here's what managed security pricing does not include.

Scope Exclusions

To keep pricing honest, here's what's not in the monthly fee:

  • Camera, panel, controller, or reader hardware purchase or replacement
  • Structured cabling, conduit, or pathways for new installations
  • Mounting labor and rough-in for new cameras, doors, or panels
  • Physical guard services or on-site armed response
  • IT cybersecurity monitoring (different operational domain)
  • Compliance audit certification (the reports support audits, but we don't certify)
  • Customer-side network or internet connectivity affecting cloud platforms
SLA Commitments

Published Response Times Across All Tiers

Managed security is only useful if response is fast and predictable. Typical SLAs across Standard, Advanced, and Premium tiers are below. Final SLAs are committed in writing in the service agreement.

1-30 min

Critical Event Notification

From event trigger to customer notification. 30 min Standard, 5 min Advanced, 1 min Premium.

Same day – 5 days

Routine Request SLA

Add user, change schedule, modify policy. Same-day Premium, 2 days Advanced, 5 days Standard.

30 days

Initial Tuning Period

First 30 days of every account include intensive tuning of correlation rules, false-event thresholds, and notification routing.

FAQ

Managed Security Pricing — Frequently Asked Questions

The questions facility directors, security managers, and IT leaders ask before signing a managed security plan in Southern California.

How is managed security pricing calculated?
Managed security pricing scales with three variables: device/door/camera count, site count, and service tier (Standard, Advanced, or Premium). Camera monitoring is priced per camera per month; access control is priced per door per month; alarm monitoring is priced per panel per month; visitor management is priced per location; unified security monitoring is priced as a service layer on top. Most accounts fit into recognizable size bands — we publish typical ranges below and confirm exact pricing after a site audit.
What's the difference between Standard, Advanced, and Premium?
Standard is business-hours managed security with core monitoring, monthly reporting, and email-based response — fits single-site organizations with predictable security operations. Advanced (most popular) is 24/7 managed security with cross-system event correlation, SLA-backed response times, and quarterly tuning — fits multi-site organizations needing real incident response. Premium is enterprise managed security with dedicated account management, custom correlation rules, compliance-grade reporting, and the fastest SLAs — fits regulated industries, multi-site enterprises, and operations where downtime cost is severe.
Are these published prices or estimates?
The structure published above is based on actual WCC customer accounts. Final pricing is committed in writing after a site audit because every account has different variables — existing equipment, integration scope, compliance requirements, response time commitments, and reporting depth. The audit is free with no obligation. Most accounts come in within 10% of the published band.
Can I mix services across different tiers?
Yes. Many accounts run Advanced tier on camera monitoring and access control but only Standard tier on alarm monitoring, or vice versa. WCC scopes each service independently based on what your operation actually needs. Mixing tiers is normal and doesn't carry a complexity surcharge.
What's the typical contract length?
Standard contracts run 12 months with month-to-month renewal after the initial term. Multi-year contracts (24 or 36 months) carry a published discount. Cancellation requires 60 days written notice. Service tier upgrades or downgrades can happen at any time during the contract — pricing adjusts at the next billing cycle.
Is there a setup or onboarding fee?
Most managed security services include a one-time onboarding fee that covers the site audit, platform configuration, integration with existing systems, operator training, and the first 30 days of intensive tuning. Onboarding fees scale with site count and integration complexity. For multi-site accounts, onboarding is typically completed in phases over 4-8 weeks.
What's NOT included in managed security pricing?
Managed security pricing covers ongoing monitoring, administration, and response. It does not include hardware purchase or replacement, structured cabling installation, mounting and rough-in labor for new cameras or readers, physical guard services, on-site armed response, IT cybersecurity monitoring, or compliance audit certification. Hardware, install, and physical response are separate line items.
Does WCC serve our area in Southern California?
WCC serves Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, and Ventura counties from our Chino headquarters and Solana Beach branch. All managed security services are available across all six counties. Call 909-364-9906 to discuss your sites.
