Managed IT Construction
Procore in the office. Network at the jobsite. WiFi in the trailer.
Managed IT construction across SoCal — general contractors, specialty trades, architects, and engineering consultancies where the jobsite is the workplace. Procore, Bluebeam Revu, BIM 360, Sage 300 CRE. Temporary jobsite networks. Mobile workforce. Field-to-office connectivity that doesn't break when the project moves.
Managed IT construction — the office, the jobsite, and the truck
Managed IT construction has the most variable IT footprint of any vertical — HQ with 20-100 employees, 3-15 active jobsites, project trailers, and the foreman's truck. The platforms are real: Procore, Bluebeam Revu, BIM 360, Sage 300 CRE, ProEst. Connectivity has to follow the work. The MSP that defaults to "everyone in the office" doesn't fit.
The engagement: HQ managed (the standard part), Procore and Bluebeam license optimization (Procore is often the largest single software line on the P&L), temporary jobsite networks for active projects (cellular-bonded routers, trailer WiFi, sometimes temporary fiber), MDM for tablets and field iPads, and the integration layer keeping Procore, accounting, and document control in sync.
This page covers GCs, specialty trades, architecture, and engineering firms (the AEC vertical broadly). For temporary jobsite infrastructure, see enterprise WiFi installation. For multi-site connectivity, see SD-WAN. WCC itself is a CSLB-licensed contractor (#819788) — we share your compliance environment.
Three construction IT realities a generalist MSP will miss
Construction IT is not professional services IT.
Jobsite needs a network by Monday
GC wins a bid Friday, mobilizes trailer Monday, needs working network for Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and the foreman's iPad immediately. Generalist MSP that takes 2-3 weeks is too slow. WCC keeps cellular-bonded routers and pre-configured APs ready.
Procore is the largest software line
For most mid-sized GCs, Procore runs $50K-$300K annually — the single largest software line on the P&L. Licensing options vary by ENR pricing, project-based, user-based, module bundles. Generic MSP doesn't optimize. WCC reviews subscription against actual usage.
Mobile workforce is the workforce
Field superintendents, PMs, and foremen work primarily on iPad and Android tablets, not office desktops. MDM is required, not optional. Photo and video evidence flows through Procore. Generic MSP ignoring mobile creates compliance and document control failures.
Why choose WCC for construction managed IT
Construction managed IT requires platform fluency, jobsite deployment, and the operational responsiveness to keep up with project mobilization.
22+ years SoCal infrastructure
Two decades of SoCal infrastructure work. Construction firms are a customer category, not a special case.
Platform + integration fluency
Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud. Integration with Sage 300 CRE and Viewpoint.
Network deployable in days
Cellular-bonded routers, trailer WiFi, temporary fiber. Deployable in days for project mobilization.
CSLB + DIR — we're a contractor too
WCC is itself a California contractor. C-7 · C-10 · C-28. CSLB, prevailing wage, DIR are our standard environment.
The six construction managed IT capability areas
Each scopes to your platform stack, jobsite count, and field workforce size.
Procore + Bluebeam + BIM
Procore subscription optimization, Bluebeam Revu deployment, BIM 360 and ACC integration. Sync to Sage 300 CRE and Viewpoint. Document control workflows.
Temporary Jobsite Network
Cellular-bonded routers for instant connectivity. Trailer WiFi for immediate work area. Temporary fiber for larger projects. Network-in-a-box deployable in days.
Mobile Workforce + MDM
iPad, Android, rugged device management. Intune or Workspace ONE. Conditional access. Procore mobile policy enforcement. Lost-device wipe. Intune.
HQ Managed IT
Endpoints, network, identity, M365 for the office HQ. The base layer mobile and jobsite extend from. M365 Business Premium standard.
Cyber for Construction
Email security (construction is heavily targeted by BEC wire fraud). MFA across Procore, Bluebeam, accounting. Backup and DR for project files. Insurance-grade controls.
CSLB + DIR Awareness
WCC understands the contractor world from inside. Prevailing wage docs, DIR registration, CSLB license maintenance, certified payroll workflows. We share your environment.
Construction managed IT — common questions
Yes. WCC supports the full Procore stack — Project Management, Financial Management, Quality & Safety, Construction Intelligence — with subscription optimization, user provisioning, integration to accounting (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Foundation), document control workflows, and mobile deployment. Procore is often the largest software line on GC budgets — WCC reviews actual usage and finds savings.
Standard cellular-bonded jobsite network with trailer WiFi: 2-3 business days from order to operational, often same-week. The bonded router (Cradlepoint, Peplink, similar) provides instant connectivity across 4-5 carriers simultaneously. For larger projects needing temporary fiber or wireless point-to-point, timeline depends on carrier provisioning (2-4 weeks) — WCC can run cellular bonded in the interim.
Construction is mobile-first — field superintendents, PMs, foremen, and tradespeople work primarily on iPads, Android tablets, and rugged devices. WCC deploys Microsoft Intune (or VMware Workspace ONE) for MDM with conditional access policies enforcing MFA, device compliance, and app management. Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360 mobile deploy with managed authentication. Lost devices wipe remotely.
Construction is one of the most-targeted industries for Business Email Compromise wire fraud. Pattern: attacker compromises a PM's email, watches subcontractor communications for weeks, then sends redirected wire transfer instructions when a real payment is due. WCC defenses: MFA on every email account, email security with BEC detection (Defender for O365, Mimecast, Proofpoint), procedural controls around wire changes (phone verification, separation of duties), detection rules for new banking detail changes.
Yes. The AEC vertical — architecture firms, engineering consultancies, construction management firms — shares enough of the platform and workflow pattern with GCs that the managed IT model is similar with different emphasis. Architecture leans heavier on Autodesk (Revit, AutoCAD), Adobe Creative Cloud, and Bluebeam, less jobsite footprint. Engineering similar plus heavier on calculation software. Construction management looks most like GCs.
Yes — WCC is itself a California contractor. CSLB license #819788 with C-7 (low voltage), C-10 (electrical), and C-28 (locksmith) classifications. DIR registered, prevailing wage compliant, SB 854 ready. We operate inside the same compliance environment as our customers. When the controller asks about certified payroll setup in Sage 300 CRE, or the PM asks about LCPtracker integration, WCC speaks the same language.
