Ekahau Wireless Site Survey in Southern California

From predictive designs to AP-on-a-stick validation and spectrum analysis, we use Ekahau AI Pro and Sidekick 2 to deliver Wi-Fi that performs. Serving Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino. Deliverables roll into managed services for day-2 success across wireless and networking.

Why Ekahau with WCC

Great Wi-Fi starts with great design—and is proven with field data. We combine predictive modeling, onsite measurements, and spectrum analysis to ensure coverage, capacity, and roaming match your real-world use cases—from Education to Healthcare.

Predictive Design (AI Pro)

Floor plans, wall materials, and capacity targets drive initial AP placements and channel/power plans.

  • Requirements workshops & RF constraints
  • Channel reuse and cell size planning
  • Designs aligned to device mix & apps

Validation & Spectrum (Sidekick 2)

AP-on-a-stick (APoS), passive/active surveys, and interference hunting to verify performance before go-live.

  • Validation of SNR, RSSI, and data rates
  • Interference analysis (BLE, microwave, etc.)
  • Tuning for roaming, voice, and high density

Workflows & Deliverables

You’ll receive actionable outputs and documentation for clean handoff—and ongoing operations through managed services.

APoS Survey & Validation

Proof of coverage/capacity before cabling and mounts—lower rework and surprises.

Heatmaps & Reports

Coverage, SNR, channel overlap, data-rate, and roaming heatmaps with clear actions.

Spectrum & Interference

Identify and mitigate non-802.11 sources that break Wi-Fi performance.

Cutover & Post-Install

Active surveys confirm performance; we tune channels, power, and thresholds.

Runbooks & As-Builts

Final AP list, mounting, ports/PoE, SSIDs, security, and change governance.

Continuous Improvement

Seasonal checks, relocation planning, and moves/adds/changes support.

Capabilities Matrix

Where Ekahau fits across the Wi-Fi lifecycle. Final deliverables are tailored to your sites and standards for wireless and networking.

Ekahau FAQs

What’s the difference between predictive and validation surveys?

Predictive uses floor plans, wall types, and capacity targets to place APs and plan channels/power before any installs. Validation confirms those assumptions onsite with Sidekick 2 measurements—verifying SNR, data rates, roaming, and interference so we can tune before go-live.

Do we always need AP-on-a-stick (APoS)?

APoS is recommended for complex materials or high-density spaces (labs, arenas, hospitals). It reduces rework by proving design assumptions before cabling and mounting. For simpler sites, we can validate after install and still tune effectively.

How do you handle interference and non-Wi-Fi noise?

Sidekick 2’s spectrum analysis highlights non-802.11 interferers (e.g., DECT, BLE beacons, microwaves). We isolate the source, adjust channels/band plans, and document mitigations so issues don’t resurface.

What do the final deliverables include?

Design and validation heatmaps, survey files, AP counts/locations, channel/power plans, SSID/security standards, and runbooks. We include remediation items with business impact and effort so you can prioritize quickly.

Can you support multi-vendor Wi-Fi?

Yes. Ekahau workflows are vendor-agnostic. We routinely design and validate for Cisco/Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Fortinet, and others—aligning to your standards and managed services processes.
